Brealant Limited · Effective date: 18 October 2026
This policy explains what information we collect when you use brealant.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can ask us about it.
brealant.com is operated by Brealant Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong, China (the "Company", "we", "us"). Our registered office is Unit 9D, 36 Hung To Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Brealant Limited is an intellectual property services company. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
If you have any question about this policy or about your personal data, write to sales@brealant.com.
Information you give us. When you send an enquiry, request a quote, ask our chatbot a question, sign in with Google, chat with us, email us, or instruct us to file an application, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, company, country, and the details of the trade mark, patent, design or other right you want protected. We ask only for what is needed to answer you and to carry out the work you ask for.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we record the pages you visit, the time of your visit, the website that referred you, your approximate location (country or city), the type of browser and device you use, and your IP address. The tools that collect this are:
We may add or change measurement tools from other companies as we see fit. When we do, we will update this policy.
Buttons and links to other companies' services. The Website has buttons and links to contact us or follow us through services run by other companies, such as WhatsApp and Messenger (Meta), WeChat (Tencent), LinkedIn, YouTube and Google Maps. When you use one of these, that company collects data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. For example, a message to us on WhatsApp is handled by Meta under Meta's terms.
Hal, our AI, and other AI. Hal is our AI: an artificial intelligence program, not a person, run on Google's Gemini models. It gives summaries and public information only, never legal advice, and like any AI it can make mistakes (see our Terms of Use). What you type to Hal, our AI, is stored so that our staff can answer you properly and so that we can improve it; it is processed by Google on our behalf and is not used by Google to train its public models. Do not type anything into Hal that you would not put in an email to us. We also use AI tools to help draft and translate website content and to help our staff prepare work; where personal data passes through them, the same protections in this policy apply.
We use personal data to:
Supplying personal data is voluntary. If you choose not to supply it, we may be unable to answer you or to carry out the work.
We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Sharing your information is part of our job. Brealant is a filing firm. Registering a trade mark, patent or design means sending the applicant's details to government offices and to the people who prepare and file the application in each country. So when you instruct us, you should expect that we will share your personal data, and the personal data of the applicant and inventors you give us, with third parties as needed to do the work. We share it with:
Our affiliates and contractors are required to keep your information confidential and to use it only for your matter.
Brealant Limited is a Hong Kong company, but your information is stored outside Hong Kong:
Hong Kong law does not forbid transferring personal data abroad, but it requires us to tell you, to use the data only for the purposes above, and to protect it properly wherever it is. Our service providers are bound by contracts that require them to protect your data. By using our website and services you agree to these transfers.
We may email you about our services, news in intellectual property, or offers, if you have asked for it or if you are an existing client and have not told us to stop. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to sales@brealant.com at any time to stop. We never use your personal data for direct marketing without your consent, and we never give it to anyone else for their marketing.
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. We use cookies and similar technologies for:
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may stop some features, such as chat, from working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on and manage Google advertising cookies at adssettings.google.com.
We keep enquiry and chat records for as long as needed to answer you and for a reasonable time afterwards. We keep client and filing records for as long as the right we helped you obtain is in force and for the period our legal and accounting obligations require, because trade mark and patent matters can run for many years. Website visit logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, alteration or loss, including access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting who within Brealant can see client information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong you have the right to ask whether we hold personal data about you, to receive a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it. People in other places may have similar or additional rights under their own law, such as the right to ask us to delete data. To make a request, write to sales@brealant.com. We may ask you to prove your identity first. We will respond within the time the law allows (in Hong Kong, 40 days).
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Our pages link to government intellectual property offices and other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them any information.
We may change this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on the Website. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. If the change is significant, we will say so on the Website. No verbal statement by anyone at Brealant, no message in chat or any other channel, no statement by Hal, our AI, and no email from a member of our staff changes this policy; it can be varied for you only by an email sent from sales@brealant.com that expressly says so.
